Notes

Won: Sweepstakes in Brookfield, VT (beating New York horses) and several match races in which he did well.
Justin Morgan (aka Figure) was the foundation sire for the Morgan breed, America's first home-bred horse. Standing just over 14 hands tall, Justin Morgan was a powerful, very sound stallion who had the unique ability to pass his characteristics on to his offspring no matter what type of mare he was bred to.
The Morgan horse's Y-chromosome haplotype is Tb-dM, which is a Darley Arabian haplotype (Wallner et al. 2017), indicating that both received pedigrees for Figure are likely incorrect. Justin Morgan the man believed the horse was of Dutch descent.
