Notes

Sire (per source): Bingo Dam (per source): Fleet Note from Pat Mefferd: Patchy's Geronimo T-467: Gelding – Foaled March 17, 1954 Sire.....Bingo (Unregistered Appaloosa) by Patchy F416 Dam....Fleet (Sorrel Mare w/Quarter Horse conformation) Getting the record straight.... Ross spoke with Claire Johnson Dries this weekend, then called me last evening June 22, 2014. Ross wanted to make sure he had given me the correct information on Patchy's Geronimo T-467. Ross had thought that "Geronimo" was a son of Patchy F-416. I told Ross the ApHC Stud Book showed he was sired by an unregistered horse named Bingo. I had wondered if the ApHC information was correct....and Claire confirmed it was correct and it was the information she gave Frank Holmes, so we are not sure why Frank misrepresented him. The following is 2nd hand information to me and I hope I get it right...and in my own words J.F Cherveny bred an unregistered mare named FLEET (a sorrel mare with Quarter Horse confirmation) to an unregistered Appaloosa stallion by Patchy F-416. Cherveny was in need of some quick money and decided to sell Patchy's Geronimo when he was 4 years old. He was offered to Ben Johnson, who purchased this gelding for resale for $200. "Geronimo" was not a finished horse, so Ben turned Patchy's Geronimo over to his young daughter Claire to put some hours on him. Claire liked "Geromino" so much that she traded her Dad a mare he had previously given her. Being a gelding, he could be ridden and shown all the time. He was hauled to many a show along with his grandsire Patchy F-416. I have not worked up a complete show record on this horse, his performing years were before the ApHC National Point System beginning in 1979. Claire reports she showed him extensively and kept Patchy's Geronimo until his death in 1985...he was 31 years old...and to this day, "Geromino" holds a special place in Claire's heart.
